In these workshops we will explore the “spirit” of performance
- being in the moment, playfulness, ensemble, presence. As well as its theatrical context, essential performance skills are involved in teaching, giving a lecture/presentation, working collaboratively with others etc. Through games and simple exercises we will play
and develop these skills.
In the final workshop we will begin to work with the Neutral Mask, or “how our bodies tell stories”, the subject of the next series of workshops in the Spring.
Philip Beaven has worked professionally with performance for nearly 30 years. He is passionate about what makes a performance alive and “life giving” to an audience.
